Put it on your phone
Two minutes, and nothing to pay.
Mind Universe is a website, but it does not have to look like one. Installed, it gets its own icon, opens in its own window with no address bar, and starts even when you have no signal. It is the same app either way — the same account, the same writing, arriving the same moment on everything you have.
On Android
Two ways in. The first is quicker and the phone trusts it without asking anything; the second is the file you can send to somebody.
The quick way — from the browser
- Open mind-universe-production.up.railway.app in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
Chrome sometimes offers this on its own, as a strip along the bottom of the screen. That is the same thing.
The file
A real Android install file. Download it on the phone, or send it to somebody the way you would send a photo.
- Tap the downloaded file.
- Android will say it does not install apps from this place, and offer a Settings button. Tap it and allow this once.
- Tap Install.
That warning is Android saying the app did not come from the Play Store, which is true. It is not saying anything about what is inside it. The warning goes away if this app is ever put on the Play Store, and until then it is the price of a file you can hand to a person directly.
On iPhone and iPad
This is the whole install: four taps in Safari, with nothing to download and nothing to trust. The icon lands on your home screen beside your other apps, and Mind Universe opens from it in its own window, with no address bar.
- Open mind-universe-production.up.railway.app in Safari.
- Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow going up, at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add, top right.
Do it in Safari. Another browser on an iPhone will show you the page perfectly well, but only Safari offers that button. Once it is there, it is the same account and the same writing as everywhere else.
What you get, and what you do not
Installed, either way, it opens from your home screen with its own icon and no browser showing, remembers you so you are not signing in each time, and opens what you have already read when there is no signal.
One thing is still missing on both: notifications. Nothing this app can do about it from the address it is on today — that waits on a domain of its own, and the app says so where you would go looking for it.
